Our Volunteers Make a Difference
Amelia Branch Volunteers
From our teens to our retirees, Amelia’s volunteers are a diverse and integral part of the Amelia branch. Our volunteers come in weekly and help with sorting, shelving, and making sure our materials are in great shape. They also assist in preparing crafts for storytimes and library programs and help with large programs when an extra hand is needed. Their reasons for volunteering center on wanting to support the library. Jane says she “wanted to do something in the community and be with people.” Melody volunteers to fill the time while she looks for a new job.
Amelia’s awesome Book Fair volunteers set up and take down the Book Fair each fall and spring. Proceeds from the Book Fair have funded library programs such as Summer Reading; Explorer’s Club; Crafternoon programs for adults and teens; the Holiday Open house; the Cincinnati Zoo visit; author visits such as Jeff Morris’s Ghost Hunting program and Maggie Green, author of The Kentucky Fresh Cookbook; the Back to School Bash; Anime Club; the Fall Open House; and the Twilight: Breaking Dawn celebration for teens.
