The Owensville Branch opened Aug. 25, 1997. Before that, Owensville had a “depot” from 1994 to 1995. The Owensville Depot was open one day a week for four hours inside the Stonelick Township Building. The Owensville facility is 14,500 square feet. The library occupies 8,500-square-foot of the space. The rest housed the support departments until March 2018 when they were moved to the Miami Township location. That support space now is being used for programming and other services. The land for the Owensville Branch was purchased from the Owensville Methodist Church in 1989 for CCPL’s 10th and final originally-planned branch. Between 2005 and 2010, the branch received new high-efficiency HVAC systems, security cameras, burglar and fire protection systems, a flagpole and upgrades to the technology infrastructure. The branch was renovated in December 2019 with new lighting, carpet, paint, and tilework as well as a study room.
