Ready to Read Festival

The Ready to Read Festival is Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 10 a.m. –  noon, at the Miami Township Branch Library.

Why attend? Reading to kids is the best way to get them ready for school, but it’s not the only way! The festival covers all five early literacy practices: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. The kids have tons of fun with our activities, and you may learn some new things to try at home that will help your child get ready to read.

What’s happening: This year we are making the festival bigger and better! We’ll have stations that cover the five early literacy practices with fun activities, including storytime, an iPad tech center, and lots of games.

We’re hosting community partners from Play Learn Grow of Clermont County. They’ll offer great activities and stations to benefit your family, including car seat checks performed by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Enjoy face painting and musical guests The Corner, who are a hip hop storytelling group from Cincinnati.

Giveaways: We’ll have a door prize drawing for a Cincinnati Zoo family membership. Every child who attends the festival can enter their name for a chance to win! Families will receive a tote bag to use during the day.. Get a stamp at each of our stations representing the 5 early literacy practices and choose a free book to take home!
