Director’s Note for March and April 2024
It seems like this year is speeding by as quickly as 2023. We offered many new programs last year, and 2024 will be no different.
First, we know reading programs that allow you to keep track of the minutes spent reading are very popular with our guests. It’s fun! I do it, too. To keep the fun going all year round, we are rolling out the Spring into Reading Challenge in April. Register, log your minutes read, and stop by your local branch to pick up a registration prize starting April 1. When you’ve logged 300 minutes, you are automatically entered to win our grand prize. Happy Reading!
Clermont County is lucky enough to be in the path of the April 8 Total Solar Eclipse. We will be passing out free eclipse glasses March 23 at each branch. Watch our social media pages and website for more details. We will pass out glasses as long as our limited supply lasts. Register for one of our eight eclipse programs across the system. When you visit, stop by one of our displays and check out a book about the sun and moon and what makes an eclipse so special.
Do you or someone you know need help with tax preparations? United Way staff members can assist you at the Union Township Branch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays until April 12. To book an appointment, visit the United Way website or get in touch with UT branch staff.
If you like to craft, we have a new Crafting Club at the Miami Township Branch that meets the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Bring your own project or learn a new craft. Don’t forget about the Fiber Arts Club that meets at the Union Township Branch at 6 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month.
We have lots more planned, including visits from President Abe Lincoln, aka Kevin Wood, to discuss the life of our 16th president. Check our April schedule for location and time information.
As you can see, we have something for everyone. Visit the event calendar for a full list of programs. I hope you enjoy the spring and plan to spend a little time at the Library.
