Director’s Note: July & August 2024
It seems like summer is flying by. I hope everyone has signed up for Summer Reading. The program does not end until July 31 so there is plenty of time to sign up, read, and record your minutes. Reading for just 20 minutes a day helps children maintain their skills and that means it takes less time for them to catch up when school begins in August. If parents read with their children, they learn that reading can be fun, not just homework. For a reluctant reader, finding the right book can be hard. Our library staff can help discover a child’s interests and reading level to find the perfect book. We have thousands to choose from!
Community survey
The Library is constantly working to provide materials, events, and services our communities want and need. We will be conducting a survey to aid us in developing our next set of strategic goals. The survey will be accessible via our website and social media so please check for updates. It’s your library and your thoughts are important to us. Please take a few minutes to participate in the survey.
Clermont County Fair
Our staff members will be at many community events to share exciting stories about the endless possibilities and adventures waiting for you at the Library. We will be at the Clermont County Fair starting July 22 as well as many of the National Night Out events scheduled throughout the county the first week of August. Come see us! We’d love for you to stop by and say hello.
Lucky Day collection
Don’t forget that the Library offers a Lucky Day collection. It could be your “lucky day” when you visit your local branch and find popular, best-selling books and the hottest movies with no wait!
Senior Cafes
At the beginning of the year, the Library began offering Senior Cafés so individuals could enjoy meeting with others their age to play cards and games, or just to share a cup of coffee. I’m excited to announce that many of our branches will offer Senior Cafes for the rest of the year. Visit our event calendar for dates and locations.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and plan a visit to the Library soon!
