Director’s Note: May & June 2025
Summer is finally here, and I’m thrilled to usher in the season with a full lineup of engaging and informative programs, materials, and services at the Clermont County Public Library!
Summer Reading Challenge
Our Summer Reading Challenge returns this year with a new theme: Color Our World! Starting June 1, it’s the perfect way to dive into a summer of reading, creativity, and community. Sign up at your local branch to receive a special registration prize. Read and log 600 minutes to earn a completion prize. Visit your local branch each week to earn entries for prizes.
Not only will you participate in a fun challenge, but every minute you read also contributes to our year-long Community Reading Goal: We Love to Read. Our goal for 2025 is to read and log 8 million minutes, and the Summer Reading Challenge is a perfect way for you to help us reach that goal.
But the Summer Reading Challenge isn’t just fun; it is also an effective way to prevent students from losing some of the academic progress they made throughout the year. By participating in Summer Reading, children can build upon their comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills. Not only will they be better prepared for next school year, but their summer will be more creative, fun, and colorful!
