Introducing Letters 2 Literacy Phonics Kits

As part of our continued commitment to promoting early literacy, the Clermont County Public Library, in partnership with Letters 2 Literacy, a local tutoring nonprofit, has added new phonics kits called Letters 2 Literacy to our collection.

What Are Letters 2 Literacy Kits?

These 50 fluency practice kits are designed to be used sequentially to improve reading skills in children ages 0 to 5. Letters 2 Literacy kits teach phonemic awareness through Alphabet Knowledge, Short Vowels, Diagraphs, Blends, Long Vowels, Endings, R-Controlled, Vowel Teams, Variant Vowels, Diphthongs, and Advanced Skills.

Each kit includes 4 to 6 laminated game sheets, 1 die, 1 dry erase marker, 24 match-up cards with a round clip, and a detailed parent guide. We recommend using the Letters 2 Literacy Kits daily to build fluency.

All 50 kits are located at the Batavia Branch, available for check out. Unable to visit the Batavia Branch? You can place kits on hold and have them delivered to your branch. Search and place holds in our catalog.

Other Literacy Resources

The Library offers other school readiness and pre-literacy resources.

School Readiness Kits: Developed by our staff, each kit focuses on a topic to help children develop their early literacy skills and be ready to learn how to read when they start school.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: Reading to your child is a powerful way to boost their brain development. Sharing books helps your child learn pre-reading skills. With the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge, kids are rewarded when they reach milestones along their reading journey with ribbons, stickers, or books.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: Sign up children ages 0 to 5 to receive one free book monthly.

Storytimes: All of our branches offer storytimes to help children develop skills in all areas of school readiness.
