Director’s Note: January – February 2023
It’s time to snuggle up with a good book. Enjoy our Cozy Winter Read challenge January 3 through February 28. You’ll receive a cozy pair of socks and some chocolate just for registering. For each book your read, you will be entered to win a basket full of cozy winter essentials. There is one winner per branch, and winners will be announced March 5.
Here we are at the start of a new year. Before we look at what January and February have to offer, I want to take a quick look back and say thank you for supporting the Clermont County Public Library in 2022. We loved seeing you in the branches, attending our programs, and giving back to the community.
I would like to point out that we have new software for you to use when recording your reading progress for our Cozy Winter Read, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and Summer Reading challenges. Our new system is called Beanstack will make it easier for you to keep track of the books you’ve read or the minutes spent reading. If you have questions, staff members are happy to help.
Library Science Fair
I’m so excited that our fifth annual Science Fair will take place in person February 4. We will be in the gymnasium of the Owensville United Methodist Church, 2580 U.S. 50. Mark your calendar and join us to see all the great projects the kids present. We’ll have a food truck on site with breakfast and lunch food available for purchase.
Library Lovers Month
February is Library Lover’s Month. Make sure to stop by your local branch during February to receive a small token of our appreciation.
Hobby resources at the Library
January is National Hobby Month. Explore The Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center, a database full of projects, videos, tips, publications, and reference materials on a wide variety of crafts.
The hoopla Digital app also has a variety of eBooks, magazines, and videos about hobbies and crafts. All available with your library card.
Happy New Year! We’ll see you at the library soon.
